50-year-old Tajudeen Omole, has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrate’s Court over an alleged rape of a 12-year-old girl.
According to a report, the accused man went to the house of his victim on November 27, 2013 at 1, Ikolaba, Osogbo, Osun State and cunningly lured the girl into her room, where he defiled her.
The Police were alerted when the victim reported the incident to people around, and the suspect was arrested.
Inspector Solomon Oladele, Police prosecutor, told the court that the offence committed was punishable under section 218 of the criminal code cap 34 vol II laws of Osun State Nigeria, 2003.
Counsel to the accused, Mr. Okobe Nagite, applied for the bail but was refused by the presiding magistrate Mr. Olusola Aluko, who said counsel to the accused is to file a formal application for his bail.
Nagite ruled that the accused be remanded in Ilesha prison.
