PHOTO: Nollywood Sexiest: Who makes last 10 as 4 men, 4 women stay on the edge?

Last week, we saw Jackie Appiah bowing out of the quest after failing to run with advancing pack, leaving just Yvonne Nelson and Nadia Buari remaining out of the Ghanaian contingent nominated for the quest. Even as it is, Nadia Buari, doesnt look to be doing too good as her name comes up with those walking the thin line of the drop zone.
For the women, joining Nadia Buari in the drop zone are three other women, namely; Amanda Ebeye, Biodun Okeowo and Queeneth Hilbert. Out of these four women only two can make it back into the quest and probably go all the way to win the crown.

For the men, John Dumelo tops the list, followed by Ghollywood Van Vicker, Mike Ezuruonye and Benjamin Joseph.
Even though Tonto still maintains her first spot, Stephanie Okereke is catching up with her faster than ever just as Ebube Nwagbo and Yvonne Nelson are not letting go the sight of each other. Ebube is barely hanging to her 3rd spot while Yvonne is as restless as ever on her 4th .
Angela Okorie who was once on the spot for eviction has fought her way up and sitting rather comfortably on the 5th spot. Collete Orji, Cynthia Agholor and Rita Dominic follow in respective order.

For the men, Yul Edochie is still looking good. The only threat, which seems a long shot, to him is probably Ramsey Nouah who is also having Benson Okonkwo and Pope Odonwondo in his range of view.

Frank Artus who follows them is beginning to smell a disturbing scent of challenge from Ali Nuhu, Odunlade Adekola and Uti Nwachukwu. In fact, the race among the trio of Ali, Odun and Uti is beginning to have a look of real contest to it.

What happens next week? Who goes down and who stays in?

Mikel Obi and Rita Dominic becoming an item?

What could twenty-something Chelsea ace, Mikel Obi and thirty-something Nollywood actress, Rita Dominic have in common? At least, this is a question running riot in the minds of people who saw the suggestive picture the duo took while Rita was holidaying in London.

Though the story said Rita ran into Mikel but then tongues have been wagging how these two stars with so many hangers-on and itinerary crazy chaperons could accidentally bumped into each. Besides, the arguments hold that several Nollywood stars have been in London without running into anybody, let alone Mikel who has a tight schedule with his ever-stern Chelsea coach, Jose Mourinho breathing down his neck to get in shape to meet his future plans for Chelsea.

But then, one should not forget Ritas latest outcry that the media have been making a mess of her relationships. So if she doesnt want to come out to blow the whistle on herself and Mikel, should anyone blame her? Unlike Jim Iyke, at least there is no claim that there are unseen forces keeping her from getting the man of her choice, or is there? If so, they are nothing close to demonic spirits or are they?

Meet 10yr-old Stowaway Bayan Mahmud And How He Turned Star Footballer in Argentina!

Ghanaian orphan Bayan Mahmud dreamt of making a better life for himself away from the brutal tribal conflict ravaging his homeland when he stowed away on a boat he thought was heading for Europe. He ended up in Argentina and just three years later the 18-year-old is now dreaming of a glittering football career with Boca Juniors the former team of his childhood idol Diego Maradona.
I didnt even know how to ask for water. Before arriving in Argentina, all I knew was Maradona, (Lionel) Messi and (Carlos) Tevez explains Mahmud of his arrival as a penniless stowaway in a country he knew nothing of.
Mahmud has come a long way from an orphaned street kid to a teenage footballing sensation plying his trade with the Boca Juniors B team.
His journey started aged 10 when he fled the town of Bukaw, in north eastern Ghana, after his parents were killed in a conflict opposing ethnic Kusasi, to which his family belongs, and Mamprusi tribes.I went out one day with my brother, explained Mahmud, and when we came home our parents were dead.
The two boys found themselves in an orphanage, and when ethnic tensions broke out again a few years later, he and his brother got separated in the chaos and he had to fend for himself.
Memories of this time remain hazy.
Everything was mixed up in my head, I had to get away. So I ran, I ran. Then I got to a port. Someone helped me get into a boat and told me it was going to Europe.
On board, he was discovered by a crew member, who gave him food on the journey across the Atlantic.
The teenager arrived in Argentina on October 7, 2010, not knowing a word of Spanish, or even where he was.
Senegalese people helped him at the port of Buenos Aires and he found himself in a refugee centre.
Mahmud admitted that he hadnt even dreamt of becoming a footballer, but he soon caught the eye of scouts while playing in the streets. One day, I was in a park, I saw people playing. A player from the losing team asked me to play. I came onto the pitch and we won, he recalls with a big smile.
He earned some pocket money for his performance and was asked to come back every Saturday.
Just three months later, he was on Boca Juniors books. Now playing for Bocas B team his dream is to play for the first team, coached by Carlos Bianchi, where Maradona played before moving to Barcelona in 1982.
He now lives in the Casa Amarilla, the training centre which houses young players from the club, close to the clubs La Bombonera stadium.
Former Boca star Hugo Perotti, who played for the club in the 1970s and 1980s, has taken him under his wing.Time will tell if destiny leads him to the first team. But after what he has endured in life, thank God, he has found football and Boca".
A devout Muslim, Mahmud prays five times a day, despite teasing by his teammates. With everything that has happened to me until now, I think God has helped me. Religion is very important for me.
Despite already being a household name in Argentina, this left back or defensive midfielder has yet to achieve his real dream to play alongside Roman Riquelme and Fernando Gago in front of 40,000-plus fans at La Bombonera.
The first time I entered the Bombonera, my head was reeling, he added.

9 Years Old boy becomes Nigeria’s youngest Microsoft certified professional

A primary six pupil of Role Model School, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos, has emerged one of the youngest pupils to obtain the Microsoft Certified Professional certificate.

A nine-year-old pupil of Role Model School, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos, Jomiloju Tunde-Oladipo, has emerged the youngest Nigerian Microsoft certified professional.

He came tops among 21 pupils who sat for the professional examination in Lagos.

He is now a Microsoft office specialist in office word 2010.

Jomiloju scored 769 out of 1,000 in the examination held in August.

In his examination score report, the slim-built boy performed well in Sharing and Maintaining Documents, Formatting Content, Applying Page Layout, and Reusable Content, among other subjects.

By the feat, Jomiloju has joined the league of young Microsoft certified professionals, including Nigerias 10-year-old Anjolaoluwa Seyi-Ojo; an eight-year-old Indian, Lavishnashree, and two Pakistanis, named Arfa and Thobani.

Microsoft Certified Professional is a certification programme provided by Microsoft Corporation. The certification is tailored towards building skills on Microsoft business solutions, focusing on client-end operating systems such as windows XP, Vista, Windows7 among others.

Jomiloju, whose certificate was signed by the Chief Executive Officer, Microsoft Corporation, Steven Ballmer, says he did not achieve this feat easily, but through persistence and hard work.

He says, It was not all that easy, because I had attempted the examination last year, I did not make it then. But I remained focused and I put in a lot of hard work.

At home and in the school, I am always on the computer. After school hours, if am not doing anything, I will go to my Information Communication Technology teacher, to learn more.

Jomiloju sat for the examination when he was in primary Five.

Relating his experience, Jomiloju says, In all, I answered 20 questions, after answering a question, the computer takes you to another one. And at times, there will be an instruction to skip the next question. But the programme still directs one to come back to those questions one had earlier skipped.

But was he really scared having failed once to meet the cut off mark? He stresses that he was really afraid due to his earlier experience but he was optimistic of having success, because according to him, he has prepared well.

He also gives kudos to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tunde-Ladipo, for their support and imbuing in him the can do spirit in achieving the success.

He says, My mum and dad were very supportive. They always tell me never to give up and eventually it paid off. Moreover, they had bought the latest Dell laptop. Again, I am always fascinated about computer. The way it works and the process, and the way it organises data.

Jomiloju who is a left-handed writer, according to his parents, has been a gifted child. He has always been in love with gadgets. His mum, Toyin, says, Jomiloju since he was baby had loved playing with gadgets, he was never interested in toys. He would pick up remote controls for both TV and air-conditioner, and he would correctly use them for their specific functions.

His father adds, It is not that we are unnecessarily indulging him but he is such a brilliant child. Hes multi-talented. He plays the saxophone, hes good on keyboard, he acts very well and hes a good swimmer.

Each term, he participates in school drama and quiz. He also gets prizes in other subjects, apart from ICT.

Does Jomiloju want to pursue a career in software/hardware project like Bill Gates and Steve Job? Spotting an innocent smile, the youngster nods his head in affirmative.

His school administrator, Mrs. Adesimbo Banjo, who speaks glowingly about Jomiloju, says the feat recorded by her pupil is a tonic for other pupils.

His ICT teacher, Mr. Mathew Alo, also commends Jomiloju for the feat.

He adds, Jomiloju was taught all the necessary things he needed to know and he came out as the most outstanding among 20 others from different schools in Lagos.

His class teacher, Mrs. Elizabeth Ogunrinola, says Jomiloju takes his studies seriously. She states, He is not only good in ICT, but in other subjects. He is hard working and well behaved.

For Jomiloju, hes not resting on his oars yet, as he says he is still going to seek more Microsoft certifications.

I still want to sit for more examinations. I will still do excel and power points, he says.

'I'd love to marry Genevieve,my story is not complete without her' - Dbanj

Dbanj is obviously still inlove with Genevieve..He said his plan for Hollywood in a movie called Banga Lee staring Genevieve:

He opened up in an interview with Jayne Augoye of Punch ..Excerpts below
Apart from the fact that she is my friend, she has been a part of my success. There is no way you are going to tell my story that Genevieves name will not come up because she featured in my biggest song of all time, Fall in Love. So if E True Story comes to Nigeria to interview me, she will definitely be called upon to tell my story.I would love to have Genevieve as my wife. We never can tell what God plans for us in the future. I have studied her and I realised that anyone that has her as his woman has found himself a treasure. Just like the Bible says, any man who finds a wife, finds a good thing.

ON REMAINING RELEVANT
So much has happened in the last 18 months and I am very thankful to God. By the Grace of God, I have remained relevant for nearly a decade in the music industry and I have released hit songs every year. Also, I am glad that I have been chosen to headline the Hennessy Artistry this year. This is one brand that understands the importance of aligning with the entertainment industry.
My career is barely 10 years old.But with the success I have achieved so far, it feels like three decades already. Within my first 10 years as a musician, I have recorded the biggest song and shot the most viewed music video of all time, Oliver Twist. I must say I am humbled and getting ready to take over,

On DONJAZZY
If I say I dont miss Don Jazzy, I am lying. I have spent the better part of my career with him. I was married to him in a way (laughs). So I miss everything about MoHits: the family, the movement, and the vibe of being in the studio with him. I miss the jokes and the arguments, but I have since keyed into the notion that nothing can stop a moving train.

Nevertheless we can always do music together. The track, Top of the World was produced by a Grammy Award Winner. The songs Finally and Dont Tell Me Nonsense was produced by my producer while Oliver Twist was produced by Don Jazzy. So, why wont I have him on my 10 years anniversary album?

On his success
I have never said I am a musician; I am an entertainer. Some people say I can pick up a microphone and become a comedian. Therefore nobody should come and ask if I want to go into acting because they should know I am already an actor. It depends on when the right script and concept lands in my hands.
For now, I am concerned about achieving new things and breaking new grounds. By the time I enter Hollywood, I believe that Ill become as successful as I have been as a singer. The movie titled I am Banga Lee, starring Genevieve, to be released in 2014, wont be a bad idea,

Delta magistrate’s kidnappers to die by hanging!!

AN Asaba High Court, yesterday, sentenced two persons to death by hanging, having found them guilty of kidnapping and robbing a female magistrate at gunpoint on Boxing Day two years ago.
The convicted persons, Saidu Haruna and Raphael Egwuba, who claimed to be phone technicians and welder at Osubi, respectively, were arraigned on a three-count charge of conspiracy to commit kidnapping, kidnapping and armed robbery on charge no A/37C/2012.
Prosecution told the court that the female magistrate was, on December 26, 2011, driving into her compound at noon, when the armed men abducted her.
She was eventually taken to a bush where they dispossessed her of valuables, including an ATM card, which the convicts used to withdraw an undisclosed amount before they were caught.
Trial
During trial, prosecution called two witnesses, including the victim (female magistrate), to prove its case and also tendered some exhibits before the court, including the magistrates Blackberry phone, which eventually helped in tracking the convicts.
Identification parades were also conducted at the office of the Department of State Services, DSS, and in the open court, where the victim identified them.
The trial judge (identity withheld) in passing the sentence yesterday, said: I disbelieve the evidence of the first and second accused persons as their testimonies were full of contradictions and meant to cover their tracks.
From the totality of the evidence before this court, I hold that the first and second accused persons were involved in the kidnapping and robbing of one Onoriode Yvonne Asheshe of her Honda Pilot SUV, ATM card, jewelries and BlackBerry phone, while armed with a gun.
I hold that prosecution has proved ingredients of counts one, two and three against the accused beyond reasonable doubt.
For count three (armed robbery), I hereby sentence the accused persons for execution by hanging on the neck until they be dead. May God have mercy on their souls.
Nursing mother, another remanded
Meantime, an Asaba chief magistrates court presided over by Chief Magistrate S. C. Okebu, has remanded two persons, including a nursing mother, who were arrested in Asaba for allegedly operating a patent medicine store without license, in prison custody.
The two accused persons, Mrs Juliet Ekhomu and one Mr. Emeka Oburah, upon arraignment before the court, were ordered to be remanded and prosecution asked to duplicate file and send to the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, for necessary legal advice.
Prosecution told the court that the offence was contrary to Section 2 (1)(b) and punishable under Section 3(1)(b) of the counterfeit and fake drugs and unwholesome Processed Foods (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, Cap C34, Volume 4, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
Some of the drugs allegedly seized and recovered from their respective shops in Asaba, included several bottles and packets of high profile antibiotics: Zinat suspension, augmentin tablets and suspension, Zitromax, Ampiclox, Amoxil, Erythromycin, Misopresol and Ciprofloxacilin amongst others.

Boko Haram activities have brought Islam to disrepute – Oyakhire

Former Military Administrator of Taraba and Oyo States, Dr Amen Oyakhire has lamented the undue castigation of Islam and Muslims as a result of the un-Islamic activities of Boko Haram in the country.
Oyakhire who is also a detective of Scotland Yard Fame, made this known while addressing Muslims on fasting and other acts of worship in Benin recently.
He said: Boko Haramists have continuously come under fire for a catalogue of serious failings. The un-Islamic activities of the Sect have brought the impeccable reputation of Islam into tartars. Islamic Tradition has since the emergence of Boko-Haram insurgency been seriously vilified and believers castigated. Many citizens have been killed by Boko-Haramist terrorists everywhere including places of worship in Nigeria.

According to him, Boko Haramists are ignorant of Islam. Islam regards life as sacred. They are violent deviants who have hitherto jettisoned or ignored participation in any dialogue with Government. They would eventually do so because they have no reasonable choice. The rational application of integrity and intellect produces peace for mankind. Peace is not just the absence of social tension but the presence of justice which Islam symbolises. There is no peace for the wicked. Woe to every sinful liar. Peace is fundamentally required for growth and development.h
The Islamic scholar advised Muslims never to relent in the pursuit of knowledge as it remains a catalyst that restores human dignity.
True Muslims are commanded to continuously seek knowledge through education, formal and informal, because it is the foundation of wisdom, light and power being a catalyst that restores human dignity. Education is life. It is a great resource for empowerment. It produces knowledge for public good. The Holy Quran  emphasises knowledge  in several verses coupled with the Prophets proclamation that a scholars ink is more precious than a Martyrs bloodh. It is desirable for people to learn from one another in the same way iron sharpens iron.
True Muslims understand clearly from knowledge and experience and greatly appreciate the inimitable fact that this World is basically held by four invisible pillars, notably, the unusual wisdom of the Learned, the impeccable justice of the Great, the immutable prayers of the Righteous and the impregnable valour of the Braveh.
He also urged Muslims to be conscious of their health by eating good and balanced diet in order to be mentally and physically healthy to participate effectively all acts of ibadah enjoined by Allah.
We live in Nigeria, a Country in West Africa, with a growing population of over one hundred and sixty million people who are often prone to diseases, trepidation, hunger and poverty because of under development caused by bad and insincere leaders. Muslims should eat a variety of healthy meals from the five different food groups, rich in nutrients and balanced diets to be mentally and physically healthy to participate effectively in fasting and other acts of worships.
Balanced diets help to lower blood pressure such as potassium, calcium and magnesium. They prevent and reduce the occurrence of diseases such as cancer, diabetes and heart related problems. Prevalent among the many diseases that often kill Nigerians are cancer, diabetes, hypertension, malaria, typhoid and aids because education and health are not treated as issues of priority by Government.h
Almighty Allah appreciates the value of good health for mankind and pronounced cure for diseases for His Prophets in six Chapters in the Holy Quran, notably, Q11-7, 914, 1057, 1782, 2680 and 4144 respectively. Muslims must be very careful with health matters because only the healthy and living can diligently and faithfully worship Allah. The dead does not praise Allah. Reasonably socialise and be merry,  Oyakhire said.
