Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift big winners at Billboard Awards!!

Pop stars Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift won the big prizes on Sunday at the Billboard Music Awards, which also honored legendary performers Madonna and Prince.

Bieber, who was named top male artist, also performed at the show at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. He also took home Billboard's first Milestone Award, chosen by fans, for musical innovation and ingenuity.

"I'm 19 years old. I think I'm doing a pretty good job, Bieber said. "It should really be about the music. This is not a gimmick. I'm an artist and I should be taken seriously. And all this other bull should not be spoken of."

The teen heartthrob did not elaborate, but in recent months he has been involved in several high-profile incidents ranging from driving offenses to reports of hard partying and drugs being found on his tour bus in Sweden.

Swift won the top award of the night, artist of the year. She thanked her fans by telling them: "You are the longest and best relationship I've ever had."

Pop diva Madonna was named top touring artist for her "MDNA Tour," 2012's highest-grossing concert series.

Madonna strode onstage to accept the accolade from will.i.am, wearing black fishnet stockings, garters and a padlock choker.

The MDNA tour grossed more than $305 million from 88 sold-out shows and attracted an audience of 2.2 million people. Madonna acknowledged her fans, saying: "A showgirl needs her fans. Thank you for supporting me for three decades."

She also thanked her four children for being "incredibly supportive."

The Billboard Music Awards, hosted by "30 Rock" star Tracy Morgan, opened with Bruno Mars performing "Treasure."

Early awards went to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, who won top rap song for "Thrift Shop," and Nicki Minaj, who took home the top rap artist honor.

Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" was named top digital song, while Swift took home the top Billboard 200 album award for "Red."

French producer and DJ David Guetta was named top electric dance music artist.

Among musical highlights, Bieber performed "Take You," which was chosen by his fans via Twitter, before pairing up with will.i.am for "#ThatPOWER."

Other musical pairings included Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull singing "#LiveItUp," Minaj and Lil Wayne who performed "High School," and Christina Aguilera and Pitbull singing "Feel This Moment."

Selena Gomez, Chris Brown, Icona Pop, South Korea rap sensation Psy and Swift, who was nominated for 11 Billboard awards and received eight, performed as well.

In an apparently unscripted moment, Miguel, performing "Adorn," leapt from the stage and landed feet-first atop two young women. No mention was made on the broadcast as to whether they were injured.

The show ended with the Icon Award for Prince, in recognition of his unique career and accomplishments in the music industry. Prince performed a medley to close the show, but did not deliver an acceptance speech.

King of Swaziland wants to make me his (14th) virgin bride, says woman seeking asylum in the UK

A young woman is seeking asylum in Britain after she spurned the advances of the polyamorous King Mswati III of Swaziland (pictured right) and refused to join his harem of 13 wives.
Tintswalo Ngobeni, 22, fled to England from the southern African nation as a teenager after she caught the attention of the millionaire monarch, a notoriously oppressive ruler known for his lavish lifestyle.
As part of Swazi custom, King Mswati III, 45, is permitted to choose a new bride every year.
Miss Ngobeni, who now lives in Birmingham, was just 15 when the King made his advances after seeing her at the palace of his fourth wife, LaNgangaza. She said she was ‘terrified’ when she learned of his marriage intentions.
She added: ‘He started calling me at boarding school. He would ask me if I wanted to be a part of the royal family. I had to keep quiet about my fears but I knew I didn’t want to get married to him and have a life devoted to the king.
‘His wives are kept in their palace, surrounded by bodyguards, and they can’t really go anywhere unless the king says so. The only thing they do is go to America once a year, as the king gives them a shopping allowance.’
The Reed Dance ceremony, pictured, is known as Umhlanga and sees thousands of Swaziland’s ‘prettiest virgins’ dance topless for King Mswati III, every August, hoping to be his next wife.
Miss Ngobeni was forced to abandon a comfortable lifestyle in a private boarding school as her aunt, who was her chief guardian, arranged the escape to England to join her mother, who moved to Birmingham five years earlier, fleeing an abusive husband.
‘I didn’t have a choice,’ she said. ‘Nobody has ever turned down the king or dares to disobey him, so I just disappeared.’
Since her arrival in England, Miss Ngobeni has become a vocal opponent of the oppressive Swazi regime, where political opposition parties are banned and activists routinely arrested or assaulted.
However, Miss Ngobeni’s high-profile activities, including weekly protests outside the Swazi embassy in London with activist group Swazi Vigil, have caught the attention of the authorities in her home country and she now believes she is in more danger than ever.
She said: ‘Recently I had news that people had been sent from Swaziland to come and get me, which really scares me. If I went back, I would be arrested or much worse as there are people there who are tortured, beaten up or killed for being politically active.’
Miss Ngobeni now lives in fear of having to return to Swaziland, after her first plea for political asylum in England in 2007 was denied in 2011.
Last month, she was arrested and taken to an immigration detention centre after 18 months of reporting weekly to the authorities.
However, after pressure from the TUC and the office of Roger Godsiff, Labour MP for Birmingham, Miss Ngobeni was released and has now been granted an appeal by the Home Office.
Mr Godsiff said yesterday: ‘We were very pleased solicitors were successful in achieving a judicial review into Miss Ngobeni’s case.’
The father of 27 children, King Mswati III was a guest at the William and Kate wedding as well as the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations last summer.
The king’s sixth wife escaped from the royal harem last year, citing years of ‘emotional and physical abuse’ by her husband.

Actress Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha: “Why I Married My Husband Secretly”

Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha is one of the popular Nigerian actresses, who has done quite well for herself in the industry since she joined in 2000.
photo
With over 50 movie roles to her credit in the last 13 years, the actress recently joined the world of producers with her debut flick, On Bended Knees. She spoke to Movie Moments’ Mutiat Alli on her life, people’s perception of her been arrogant and her hubby.
How do you feel as a new entrant into the world of production?
I can’t really explain how I feel because this a dream I have nurtured for so long and seeing it come to reality is just like a dream come true to me and perhaps the reception has been immeasurable considering the fact that it is my first major production as a producer.
What actually prompted your decision to turn producer over night?
I want to correct that impression of me turning into a producer over night simply because I have been in the industry for quite an age now and for me to produce a movie of my own is just to let the world understand the fact that even been an actress; I can as well turn out to be fantastic producer and that has been my dream for a very long time.
On Bended Knees is directed by good hands; what formed your choice of selection?
I feel they both understood what I was looking out for in the production of the movie; so having Emem Isong and Lancelot Imasuen as my directors is the greatest thing that happened to me because they both believed in my dream. Even at the time of giving up on the production; they were both there to encourage me and at the end of it all I was able to have a fantastic movie.
What is the movie all about?
On Bended Knees is a movie very dear to my heart. It’s a captivating story of a young and vibrant man who relegated his duties as a husband and the man of the house to the background. His wife, ignored and lonely, finds comfort in the company of her boss. It is discovered that the wife is having an affair with her boss and things take a new twist. This story happens every day even in the midst of the “seemingly” perfect relationships. It’s a movie every home should have and watch.
Considering when you started in the industry; what is your view on the standard of movies been produced in Nigeria presently?
Well professionally, I started acting in 2000 and there is a far difference between the kind of films produced now and back in the days; I can authoritatively say it loud and clear that the Nigerian movie industry has been impressive considering the kind of equipments we now use in shooting our movies. Also, we have been able to meet up with international standard. I believe the sky is our starting point and definitely not our limit.
You have managed and maintain an almost scandal free reputation; how have you been able to manage this?
I feel it has been the grace of God because we all are not created perfect and as such we just manage to be our self and be of the best behavior.  I just feel being an actor opens you up to controversies, scandals and all that. Maybe I’ve just been lucky.
You turned 33 just last month. Looking ahead, what do you hope to have achieved by your next birthday?
I hope that by my next birthday, I would have done another movie and grown from this level. There is no stagnancy in the industry. If you don’t see an actor for a period of time in movies, it doesn’t mean they are not doing something. Some are directing, some are producing, some are rebranding. There is no dry moment. For me, I want to move to another level by my next birthday.
As a married woman, what has marriage taught you?
I have learnt a lot from been a married woman because it only take the Grace of God for two people who are completely different to stay together for the rest of their lives. One major thing I have learnt is patience and perseverance. One needs to tolerate one another.  I and my husband not just see ourselves as been married; we are also friends.
Much has not been said about your husband; how will you describe him and why haven’t we been seeing you two together?
I have got the best husband as a friend and the father of my children; he is loving, caring and has been supportive of my career and for not seeing him around me; it’s our mutual agreement to make our marriage private. We are happy and our source of joy been our children.
What is that one impression that people have about you and you would like to correct?
Definitely it’s going to be on this issue of me been arrogant which I know I am not; I strongly believe in the saying that you don’t judge a book by its cover. I guess people of that impression are people who don’t know me or aren’t closer to me. I am not arrogant.

Mother, 3 Daughters Raped At Gunpoint

A gang of suspected rapists at the weekend raped 3 daughters and their mother in Illah town, Oshimili North local government area of Delta State at gun point.
Spokesman of the state police command, ASP Lucky Uyabeme, said the victims were ambushed on their way to the farm, adding that one of the suspects, identified as Chuks had attempted to woo one of the victims, who is a 16-year-old SSII student of one of the secondary schools in the area, but failed.
He said upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to have invited his gang members who assisted him to rape the girl, her mother and two sisters on that fateful day.
It was gathered that the rapists emerged from the thick forest and held the victims with AK 47s. They allegedly stripped them naked before defiling them on the bush path.
Uyabeme said that while the act lasted, passers-by who heard their shout rushed to the scene and were given the same treatment by the suspects who after threatening to kill them escaped with their victims’ wrappers and tools into the bush.
Luck however, ran out on one of the gang members as he was identified by the victims.
Some sympathizers who assisted the victims allegedly contacted the police where they insisted that one of the suspects was a known face in the community.
Leadership Sunday learnt that there have been reported cases of rape in the area.In the last two months no fewer than eight under-aged girls were allegedly raped in the community.
The police spokesman said that detectives acting on a tip-off swung into action and arrested the said Chuks who led them to the hideout of his gang members where they were arrested in Kwale with several AK47s recovered from them.
Only last Monday, an 18-year-old female student of Asaba Girls Grammar School was allegedly raped by a group of suspected cultists who assaulted her on her way from the church after a vigil.

Man loses manhood after giving beggar N50 in Akure

“Wonders,” they say, “will never cease”. This was the scenario at the weekend at the Old Garage, Akure when a middle-aged woman was alleged to have used charm to take a boy’s penis.
It was gathered that the victim, Adewale Akande, a graduate of College of Education, Oro, Kwara State gave the woman who begged him for alms, N50 but five minutes later, he discovered that he was having a feeling that his manhood had disappeared.
Apparently uncomfortable with the situation, the victim, in his mid-twenties, called a traffic officer around to help him arrest the woman whom he said begged him for alms.
When brought to the Police Area Command Station at Oyemekun Road, Akure, it was learnt that the suspect first denied having collected money from the victim. But after a thorough interrogation by the Police, she confessed that she received the money from Adewale.
Meanwhile, there was tension around the police station as Wale’s family members insisted that the case be transferred to the Deji’s Palace for traditional solution.
After six hours of apprehension, the victim was taken to an undisclosed hospital where he regained his manhood.
Narrating his ordeal to “DailyPost”, Akande said he came to Akure on Tuesday with his brother, Ademola, to inform their relatives about Ademola’s marriage.
The incident, he said, happened when he was about boarding a commercial vehicle to Ilorin from Old Garage; leaving his brother, behind as he promised to leave Akure the following day, Friday.
Akande said the beggar had begged her for alms, after which he gave her N50 only to notice after five minutes that his manhood was ‘shrinking’.
He said all efforts to get help from passengers in the car proved abortive, as they mistook him for ’419? (fraudster). The graduate said he immediately called his brother on phone before approaching traffic wardens for help.
He said, “I just saw the woman on the road. She was begging me that I should give her N50. I gave her and in the next five minutes, I saw that my body was weak and my penis became very tiny like broom”.
Ademola, his brother, confirmed the incident, saying Wale called him immediately after the incident occurred. He expressed surprise at the mysterious disappearance of his brother’s manhood, adding that but for God’s intervention, it would have been a different story.
On her part, an aunty to the victim whom the brothers had visited, Prophetess Florence Adeojo of C&S, Imole-Ayo Parish, Oke-Ijebu, Akure advised members of the public who want to give alms to give them directly to churches and not to every beggar they see on their way.
When DailyPost reporter visited the Area Commander’s office yesterday, it was discovered that the woman was still under detention, just as none of the officers were willing to speak to press on the matter.
The Police Public Relations Officer [PPRO], Mr. Wole Ogodo who confirmed that the case was taken to the Police Area Command, said the police was not really sure if the victim truly lost his manhood.
According to him, “the boy and the beggar who is an able body woman were taken to the Station and during the interrogation, the Area Commander asked if the boy has a girlfriend or someone who could help him test if he had really lost his manhood, but Adewale claimed that his girlfriend was very far from Akure and no one around could help him make the test if his manhood was still functioning.
“The Area Commander also asked from the victim the last time he had eaten, but Adewale said for the past seven days he had been fasting. The Police boss immediately directed the boy to go to the hospital for proper medical attention, believing that the victim might be suffering from psychological problem since he had not eaten for the past seven days.
“Later on, the boy returned from the hospital and confirmed that his manhood was now functioning properly. However, the woman has been warned by Police not to stay around that area again or any place to solicit for money, rather, she should look for better things to do in order to keep her soul and body together” the PPRO had confirmed.

OMG!! Women only m*sturb*tiôn lounge opens

A new type of lounge opened in Japan recently, according to reports.
A women-only bar stocked with colorful masturbatiôn sèx toys becomes a hot new thing in Japan.
Love Joule, a “love and sèx bar dedicated to women,” aims to promote a comfortable environment in which ladies can “openly discuss masturbatiôn”, perhaps with the help of a cocktail or two. “Since most people see female masturbatiôn as something of a mystery or taboo, it is not a normal discussion in the typical bars,” the owner, Megumi Nakagawa told a reporter.
Behind the bar at Love Joule are bright candy-colored vibrators and lubricants. There is also a selection of bottles of champagne and liquor. The bar, which opened in July in Tokyo’s Shibuya district, is beyond the reach of men, unless accompanied by a woman.
It’s about fashion and sèx in a different kind of space perfect for girls-only conversations or a date,” Nakagawa said, according to the reporter in Tokyo. The bar has already become popular among the stars of the adult film industry in Japan, citing X-rated actress Mine Nayuka as a customer, the local newspaper reported.

I’m Trying To Look Like Peter Of PSquare — Banky W

I am Bankole Wellington but fans call me Banky Warrior or Banky W. I’m a singer and record label owner (Empire Mate Entertainment). I was born in the United States to Nigerian parents.
photo
My family moved back to Nigeria when I was five years old.  After secondary education in Nigeria, I moved back to the US on a college scholarship, where I earned a degree in Engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. While still in college, I won the Albany Idol Competition and that set the stage for my career in music.
Entertainment in Nigeria
We are doing quite well and we have come a long way but we have a long way to go and in terms of marketing music. We have the ‘show’ part but we need to work on the business part.  Nigeria is one of the only places in the world where royalties are not paid by radio and TV stations. These people make use of music to run their businesses and make revenue from advertising but don’t pay us.
Me and artistes
For the ones on my label, I oversee their musical projects and I position them as brands. We do a lot of strategic thinking, planning and negotiations too.
A day in my life
I wake up, pray and I work out with my trainer, Uzi. He is Ikechukwu’s younger brother and he is trying to get me into shape so that I can look like Peter of P Square! After training, I’m back home, shower and try to get a healthy meal. I like chicken breast and sea food a lot. What I do after the morning ritual varies. I have many activities to attend to and in the evenings, after dinner, I watch an Arsenal game before I retire to bed.
Leisure
How and where I hang out depends on the day, sometimes there are events where I have to attend the after-party. Sometimes, I just feel like letting loose and hanging out a bit. At other times, I may be too tired to do so because of my busy schedule.
Dislikes
I hate photo shoots! Photoshoots are annoying to me, the whole process of standing there, posing and doing other random things. However, I realise that I have no choice in the matter, pictures are necessary; people have to see the artiste and connect with his image. Also, the pictures would be needed   for CD covers and press publications. I try to limit them and I only do photoshoots when I have a new album coming out. At such times, I would take a lot of different shots that will last for a year or two so they don’t have to disturb me again. But I love video shoot because I feel I can play a role; I feel as if I am almost acting.
Style
Style is just an expression of who you are and how you are feeling; it is how you want to present yourself to the general public. Comfort influences my style. Even if I am wearing a suit, I have to be comfortable in it and it has to fit properly. I wear a lot of traditional outfits these days because I love the way they make one feel free.  Style is all about you presenting yourself in a way you want people to treat you. If you present yourself like a rascal, people will react to you accordingly. But if you have money like Bill Gates, then you can afford to come out looking unkempt and it would not matter to anybody how you look.
Saddest moment
When I lose a loved one and I have lost one or two.

My Wife Exposes Her “oranges” and Buttocks, I Can’t Marry Her Again

drama galore recently at a court house in Lagos as 42-year-old Owoseni Benson openly condemned his wife for dressing like the wayward young ladies he sees on dirty music videos and movies…..
He said his wife’s almost unclad dressing is attracting other men to her, leading to her sleeping out…
“I am not angry with my wife for not having kids but with the way she dresses provocatively, leaving her breasts and buttocks virtually unclad. Anytime I complained, she will say that is what is in vogue.
“She brought a concubine to my mother’s burial but I didn’t catch her then”.
Benson has therefore pleaded with an Agege Grade ‘A’ Customary Court in Lagos to dissolve his 7-year-old marriage over the wife’s wayward life. He said his wife, Adenike Oladeru, was troublesome to extent that the house they currently live in is the third house they rented.
“She fights everybody in the house, possesses all kinds of bad habits one can think of. There was a time she attempted suicide claiming that I rebuked her for being childless. [But] I only advised her to stop being troublesome with people”, Benson said.
“I had a child when I was in secondary school. She asked me to bring the child home so that if she lived with us, I would not be able to marry the mother, but when the child came to live with us, she didn’t give her rest of mind.
“There was a day we went to settle a rift in my sister’s place, she stood up and gave me a hard slap because I complained she goes after men. I caught her with a man late in the night, she did not come home that night, she went to stay with her aunt for a week.
“In 2011, she called me and said she was fed up with the union and gave me a month ultimatum. Two weeks later, she started parking her bags and left to re-marry. [So] I came to court to dissolve the union because she has come to beg me that we should continue, but I don’t want her anymore”.
The wife, Adenike, a hairdresser, refused to show up in court for the fourth time. The court president, Emmaunel Shokunle, has therefore fixed May 27 for final judgment.

Rihanna must have lost weight since she bought these tight leather trousers.
The pop beauty was forced to grab the waistline of her bottoms to prevent them falling down as she returned late to her hotel in New York.
The singer pinched the excess material with her fingers and used her handbag to prop up the front of her trousers.
She teamed her loose leathers with a tummy-flashing crop top, high heels and flowing bleach blonde locks.
Despite the presence of skin, Rihanna was dressed conservatively compared to the provocative T-shirt she wore the previous day.
The singer grabbed attention in a rude top that was emblazoned with the acronym D.I.Y. and a sexually explicit image.
The saucy star’s endorsement of going solo for sexual kicks came hot on the heels of her split from on/off boyfriend Chris Brown.

R&B star Brown announced their break-up last week, four years after his brutal attack on her spelled the end of their first relationship.
The chart-topper – who refers to Rihanna as Shawty – said: “I’m gonna do it solo. At the end of the day Shawty doing her own thing, she on the road.
“It’s always gonna be love. I’m a grown man, just gotta fast forward.
“The way I look at it is, I’m always going to love that person, but people have differences, and people have different wants and needs.
“At the end of the day she’s a young girl.
“I can’t really be focused on wife-ing somebody that young, and I’m young too.
“I just got to step forward and be the man and be the best Chris Brown I can be instead of worrying about whoever else is going to be in my side pocket.”

Bee venom may soon be cure for HIV & cancer, according to Ibadan apitherapist

If reports from the researches of a team of medical practitioners at the Washington University School of Medicine, USA, and the testimony of an Ibadan-based apitherapist are anything to go by, perhaps the world should get ready to heave a sigh of relief from AIDS and cancer.
Unlike most other ailments where the bodyfs defence apparatus fights foreign objects thereby protecting the body, in the case of HIV, it attacks the soldiers, the T-helper lymphocytes, also called CD4 or T4 cells. Noted Wikipedia Free Encyclopedia; gThese are white blood cells that are essential part of the human immune system. They are called helper cells because one of their main roles is to send signals to other types of immune cells, including CD8 killer cells.
T4 cells send the signal and CD8 cells destroy and kill the infection or virus. But as a popular Igbo adage says, when the lion is incapacitated, the antelope visits to settle old scores, so if CD4 cells become depleted, as is the case in untreated HIV infection, or immune suppression, the body is left vulnerable to a wide range of infections that it would otherwise have been able to fight.
Following the report of the US-based medical scientists (Hood J.L, Jallouk A.P, Campbell N, Ratner L and Wickline S.A) that a toxin (melittin) found in bee venom could destroy HIV and tumor cells without harming nearby cells, there have been varied reactions from the public. Some described it as a miracle, others were skeptical while a few said it was impossible. Sunday Vanguard sought opinions of experts.
Bee venom as a weapon:
Engr. Ayodele Salako, an Ibadan-based apiculturist/apitherapist, said although most orthodox medicine practitioners do not believe in alternative medicine, the answer to most diseases of man lies with nature and, unless we go closer to nature, we will not discover its many wonders.
He added, gHoney bee venom , also called apitoxin, is one of the major products of the bees and they use it to defend themselves, the queen bee and their territory, it is their weapon. Also God has put something in the bee venom for healing so once a bee stings you, 45 minutes or one hour later, it dies and that venom, within your body system, begins to do a lot of wonders. The introduction of that venom through the stinger into your system may cause some pains and that pain is the pain that kills pains, he said.
Bee venom therapy (BVT):
Salako reeled out a number of ailments that could be combated with bee venom which include headache, insomnia, osteoarthritis, fractures, inflammation, high blood pressure, skin problems, back pain, infertility in women, eye problems, wounds that have refused to go for about two-three years. gThe best remedy for arthritis is Bee Venon Therapy, BVT,h he stated.
Mr. Ndubuisi Okwum , a staff of Scripture Union, Nigeria, echoed Salako’s view. He said: gI learnt a bit of apiculture at Umudike, Abia State and since the 90s, I have known that bee sting can cure malaria (apipuncture), so I am not surprised at this recent research development.
Mr. Harry Porter , reacting to the story, HIV, cancer: Bee venom to the rescue on Vanguard website, said; gThis is what we call nature signature. This is the suggestion of what a fruit or leaf or animal or insect can cure by looking at its structure and what it resembles. Taking a good look at bees, you can see that the comb resembles a DNA structure and a virus. So itfs a great possibility that the cure for HIV can come from it. More research is needed to get a pure sample that will do this without rendering the surrounding cells useless or dead.
If you have a severe headache and I administer BVT via a bee sting, there will be quick relief. As an apitherapist, I studied body anatomy so I know at what points to apply the bee sting so that the venom can be carried through the required route to the targeted site. If you complain of insomnia and I give you BVT, within 20 minutes, you will sleep off,” said Salako, noting that “a farmer who goes to the farm and is being stung by bees will not fall ill easily. He is free from having fever regularly, free from insomnia, high blood pressure, skin problems, eye problem, back pain, HIV etc. Bee venom is very powerful against many ailments.”
Bee venom against HIV
Salako, who claims to have been treating HIV-positive people with bee venom, said; gI have used bee venom to treat some HIV positive patients. I say it on live broadcast but many people donft believe it. If Vanguard can just look for one confirmed HIV-positive patient, they should send him/her to me. After 8 ? 12 weeks of treatment, the person will go for another test. Usually, after the first 8-12 weeks of treatment, he will notice a decrease in the viral load. Then we continue the treatment for another 4-5 weeks and the patient goes for another test until there is no more AIDS virus in the system. Apart from the BVT, I also apply other bee products like propolis with honey.
The researchers had said that gbee venom contains a potent toxin called melittin that can poke holes in the protective envelope that surrounds HIV and other viruses. It has even shown melittin-loaded nanoparticles to be effective in killing tumor cells.h
Asked if any kind of bee could be used for BVT, Salako replied in the negative saying; gThe female bees are the only ones that can sting so only female bees are used in BVT.
The male bees are called drones; the mature female bees are called queens which lay the eggs. The drones cannot sting; their main function is to fertilize the virgin queen during her mating flight after which they die.
Extinction of bees:
Some people argue that if the anti-HIV./cancer activities of bee venom proves to be true, then bees may become extinct sooner than later but Salako allayed this fear saying that a queen can lay about 2,500 ? 3,000 eggs per day, adding that it will rather create the much needed job for the youths.

Rapist Caught Trying To Rape An Old Woman Claims He Did It Because Young Girls Won’t Date Him

Nnanna Osondu is a young man with all the appetites of his age mates. But he would rather satisfy his sexual appetite, which he described as “large” with elderly women whom he raped.
Why? “None of these young girls around is ready to befriend me,” he claimed.
Nnanna Osondu of Opi community in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State recently stunned security operatives and other inhabitants of the agrarian community when he revealed his delight in raping women far past menopause.
Osondu, said to be in his early 30s, does no serious work for a living. It was reported that he had approached several young women in the community for friendship, but none reciprocated. So, he neither has a wife nor is he courting any one at the moment.
He could not even afford the ‘luxury’ of an hour with a call girl. Still, he wanted to satisfy his sexual urge.
In meeting his desire for sex, Osondu resorted to raping elderly women whom he later claimed were better than many young girls around. But having carnal knowledge of these elderly women, many old enough to be his grandmother, did not come cheap.
Osondu reportedly scouts round the community in the day time, for his prey, and once he gets them, he goes after them at night. Since the alleged rapist could not lure these elderly women with any material item, he reportedly threatened them with a knife he usually concealed in his trousers.
Apart from threatening to kill the elderly women should they refuse him sex, Osondu also carefully selected those women who live alone in their homes.
For months now, Osondu had successfully raped about a dozen elderly women whose age averaged 60 years old. Luck, however, ran out on Osondu Tuesday, last week, when a victim rebuffed his threat to kill her and managed to raise the alarm which drew the attention of passersby. That was around 4:30p.m on a bush path in the community.
It was reported that a day before Osondu planned to carry out his crime against the fair-skinned elderly woman, he had visited the woman pretending to want to buy an item from her.
The woman was reportedly alone at the time Osondu visited her. With the knowledge of the woman going to the market the following day to get some items into her shop, the rapist traced her to the market.
But on her way from the market, he reportedly waylaid the woman at a nearby bush brandishing his knife at the woman, and then asking her for sex. The woman, identity concealed, rebuffed his death threats and started shouting at the top of her voice hoping to attract attention.
The woman soon got help from other villagers returning from the market, who surrounded Osondu and gave him some beating before he was handed over to law enforcement agents. Osondu was later transferred to the Enugu State Criminal Investigations Department where he is reportedly cooperating with the police.
When confronted with the allegation that he was using the women for rituals, Osondu denied the allegation, but claimed that he only ‘used’ the women to satisfy his sexual urge.
“It is not true that I use the women for ritual. The truth is that I have a big appetite for sex and none of these young girls around is ready to befriend me. So I resolve to going for the elderly women,” he said.
Narrating his modus operandi, alleged rapist Osondu continued, “I always get the women in the night or in the bush mostly when they were returning from the market. If anyone wanted to resist me, I only use the knife to threaten them so that they can let me have my way. I never harm them with the knife.
The truth is that young ladies in this town make life difficult for you once you do not have money to spend on them,” he said. Ebere Amaraizu, Enugu State Police Command spokesman, who confirmed the incident, thanked members of the community for apprehending the suspect.
