Her name is Gabriella. Says she's an aspiring Victoria Secret model and actress. Not sure where she's from though. Gabriella, via her instagram account @bambiiiii_ shared her recent sad experience of domestic violence from her boyfriend of eight months. She was badly beaten, thrown from a moving vehicle and dragged. She shared this photo of her injury above on her instagram page and wrote:</span><br style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.200000762939453px;" /><blockquote class="tr_bq" style="background-color: white; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.200000762939453px;">
"This might be a little graphic but I just want to let everyone know that I am okay. I am a survivor of domestic violence with a boy I dated for 8 months. I really thought everything was fine but he constantly questioned me about cheating and flirting. Nonsense. I never looked at someone the way he looked at me. Thought I loved this boy. How can someone that 'loves' me do this to me? The scars on my chest are way worse and extend down to my right nipple, completely scarred. The skin on my shoulder has been completely skinned. And I have bruising on my rib cage, neck, and my muscles. I was kicked out of a moving vehicle, then beaten and dragged, as I blacked out and was left lying there in my own puddle of blood. Doctors said I could have died if not made it when I did. I am so blessed and beyond lucky to be alive and have so much support from friends, family, and strangers. As I try to recover I ask to please keep me in your prayers. I have to wear a neck brace for 3-4 weeks, an arm cast and I can barely walk for now. Thank you for all the love. I hope to be an inspiration to women and anyone involved in domestic violence.</blockquote>

<div class="article-i" id="article_block" itemprop="articleBody" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 22px;">
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
<strong>Justice Mohammed Yunusa of Nigeria’s Federal High Court Lagos on Wednesday sentenced a 28-year-old pregnant woman, Saudat Wasiu, to three months in jail for drug trafficking.</strong></div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
<img align="middle" alt="Pregnant Woman Jailed For Cannabis Trafficking" border="0" data-resized="1" data-x-src="http://img.naij.com/n/0c/7/cannabis.jpg" data-zoom="1" hspace="5" src="http://img.naij.com/n/0c/7/cannabis.jpg" style="border: none; cursor: pointer; display: block; max-width: 500px; width: 500px;" vspace="5" width="500" /></div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
The woman however has a few days to spend in jail as the sentence would run from the day of her arrest, which was 4 December.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
The judge sentenced the convict after she pleaded guilty to a count charge of dealing in about 3.9 kilogrammes of Cannabis Sativa, also known as Indian hemp.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
Before the sentence, the woman pleaded with the court to temper justice with mercy.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
She said she had no one to run to, since she had been deserted by her entire family members, praying the court to be liberal with the sentence.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
Justice Yunusa said the sentence should commence from Dec. 4, 2013, when she was arrested.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
<strong><em>“The convict is hereby sentenced to three months imprisonment, which date is to start running from the time of arrest.</em></strong></div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
<strong><em>The convict is therefore, cautioned and advised to desist from crime in her interest and the interest of the society at large,”</em></strong> he said.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
The Prosecutor, Mr Jerry Aernan, had told the court that Saudat was arrested by officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on 4 December 2013 at NNPC area of Ejigbo.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
He said that about 3.9 kg of the narcotic drug was found in Saudat’s possession which she concealed in a white sack.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravenes the provisions of Section 11 (c) of the NDLEA Act, Cap N30, Laws of the Federation, 2004.</div>

I walked up to another vendor and the same thing happened. On further investigations, I found out that you, MTN had topped an additional #10 to your #100, #200, and #400 airtime packages.<br />We have been told by MTN that the cost of those tools they have been using in torturing has risen and as such, we should pay extra #10 to make up for this.<br /><br />I'm tempted to ask, why the sudden price increment? To rid off customers? To offer us good service? Or is MTN broke? Are you not the one that gave out an invisible aeroplane to an eighteen year old female subscriber a year ago thereby converting her from a studen to a pilot? Are you not the one that usually give two million naira to lucky subscribers daily IF and ONLY IF he/she will text WIN to 33314? Are you not the one that gave CHRISTY a Toyota Camry because she texted YES to 7070? Are you not the one that gave OGECHI a Honda four weeks ago because she texted WIN to 5050?<br /><br />What of the #100 that was deducted from my sim and that of other innocent subscribers after MTN informed us via SMS that Nigeria's flag is green, white, gree? Are you not the one that offered us #400 airtime (though your terrible network didn't let us utilise the airtime before you took it back from us two days after) free of charge because we updated our sim registration details?<br /><br />Last year, I was walked out of an examination hall by the supervisors because my phone rang. One missed call from 180. Those yellows guys have hypnotised me. I can't count the number of times I've gone to a mobile shop to get another line but walked out after 30 minutes with another MTN sim. I gave it all. The 0803, the 0806, the 0703, the 0706, the 0813, and the 0810 numbers.<br /><br />MTN were the first to send me a new year SMS. They had me googling if I mistakenly killed late Nelson Mandela. (My number had not rested coz I refused to subscribed for Mandela's callertunes). I wake up every morning with a good morning SMS from MTN N informing me of my chance to win One Million Naira before the day is over. I go to bed every night with my good night SMS from MTN N informing me that I may not have been lucky today but tomorrow is another day.<br /><br />Finally, why didn't you ask for my approval before the #10 subsidy issue? Some of you may be thinking that am jobless because of my 800 words article just because of #10. If #10 is taken out of your One Million Naira, would you still be called a millionaire?<br /><br />But finally MTN has been fucking up.<br />Yours sincerely,<br />Nigeria OO</span><script type="text/javascript">

<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
<strong>Police in Afienya, Ghana, have arrested two persons on the Akosombo-Tema Highway for allegedly possessing human skull.</strong></div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
<img align="middle" alt="Photo: Two Ghanaian men arrested with a skull of a human" border="0" data-resized="1" data-x-src="http://img.naij.com/n/misc/miscelleneous/02/f/arrested_with_head.jpg" data-zoom="1" hspace="5" src="http://img.naij.com/n/misc/miscelleneous/02/f/arrested_with_head.jpg" style="border: none; cursor: pointer; display: block; max-width: 500px; width: 500px;" vspace="5" width="500 " /></div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
The two culprits, Simon Yovou, 34, fetish priest and Thomas Dodzie Nodzi, 38, unemployed, both residents of Afienya, were transporting the skull from Agortime Wudome in the Volta Region to Kumasi, when they were detained by the police.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
The human part had been sent to the Forensic Laboratory for further confirmation.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
Superintendent Kwesi Ofori, Dodowa District Police Commander confirmed the arrest.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
Upon reaching a section of the Akosombo-Tema Highway near Afienya, the bus was reportedly stopped by the police, and a snap check conducted on the passengers in the vehicle revealed the skull hidden in Simon’s bag.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
The police later got viable information from Simon, which led to the arrest of Thomas.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
The police interrogation revealed that the skull was to be delivered to a certain Dzabaku, a fetish priest at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
Superintendent Ofori further added that efforts by the Agortime Police and the Dodowa District Police to locate where the suspects got the skull from proved futile, as they failed to divulge any information to the police.</div>

<strong>More than 2,000 people were forced from their homes after a market attack in northeast Nigeria blamed on Boko Haram militants that killed at least 52, a relief agency said Thursday.</strong></div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">

<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><em>Boko Haram church attack</em></span></div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in the region said 4,000 people were “affected” by Sunday’s attack in Kawuri village, Borno state, without giving further detail.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
NEMA spokesman Abdulkadir Ibrahim said that in addition “over 2,000 internally displaced people (IDPs) are camped in” a college and primary school in Konduga district.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
<em>“Security arrangements are being made to convey relief materials like food, beddings and basic needs to cushion the effects of the displacement of the IDPs,”</em> he added in a statement.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
The attack, at about 5:00 pm (1600 GMT), saw heavily armed gunmen disguised as traders storm the village, which is 37 kilometres from the state capital, Maiduguri.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
Witnesses said the gunmen arrived in four-wheel-drive vehicles and opened fire with machine guns before setting off homemade bombs that destroyed houses and other property.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
Borno state police told AFP on Tuesday that 52 people had died, although local officials and the leader of the civilian vigilante group in the area said they had buried 85.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
The attack came on the same day that at least 26 people were killed when suspected Boko Haram gunmen fired on worshippers during a service at a Roman Catholic church in neighbouring Adamawa state.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states were placed under emergency rule in May last year to try to end the insurgency, which has claimed thousands of lives since 2009.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
Attacks have continued, most of them in rural areas of Borno, which borders Cameroon and Chad to the northeast and east, and Niger to the north.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
The United Nations said last Friday that 4,000 people had fled northeast Nigeria to Cameroon and 1,500 to Niger since mid-January, both as a result of the insurgency and the military response to it.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
More than 12,400 Nigerians are currently in Cameroon; 8,000 have fled to Niger with 30,000 Niger nationals who had been living in Nigeria.</div>

<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
<strong>The 2014 budget presented to the National Assembly by President Goodluck Jonathan last week contains fraudulent request for funds.</strong></div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
In what clearly appears a ploy by officials to brazenly steal public funds, the Federal Government is asking the National Assembly to approve about N30million which it purportedly plans to spend on fueling aircraft and boats owned by Nigerian embassies abroad.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
The fraudulent request is coming when government officials know that none of Nigeria’s foreign mission owns a plane or boat.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
Details of the 2014 Federal Budget presented last week by the Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, to the National Assembly on behalf of President Goodluck Jonathan, revealed that the foreign affairs ministry is asking for <em><strong>about N30million</strong></em> to cater for these phantom expenditures.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
Officials claim Nigeria’s foreign missions in Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Ethiopia, Algeria, and Mali would need an average of <em><strong>N1.785million each to fuel aircraft</strong></em>, and another <em><strong>N2.381million each to fuel boats during the year</strong></em>.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
Similar provisions, concealed under the general fuel and lubricants subheads, were made for the embassies in Turkey, Lebanon, and United Arab Emirate, UAE.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
The budget for the mission in Mali also has ludicrous demands for aircraft maintenance cost (N638,365); boat maintenance cost (N635,435), and railway equipment maintenance cost (N999,8240).</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
When released, <em><strong>these funds will simply go into the pockets of corrupt officials</strong></em> since the embassy does not own aircraft or boat and has no railway line to maintain.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ogbole Odeh, said in a telephone interview in Abuja on Tuesday that the provision for aircraft fuel cost in the budget for the foreign missions was strange, as the federal government does not maintain aircraft in any of its embassies abroad.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
“Aircraft fuelling cost? This sounds strange to me. I have never heard of such,” Mr. Odeh said, in response to an enquiry. “What is normal is motor vehicle or generator fuelling costs. To the best of my knowledge, none of the Nigerian Missions abroad maintains an aircraft. Or what purpose is the railway equipment maintenance supposed to serve? I don’t know. It sounds ridiculous.”</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
This is not the first time when fraudulent fund requests smuggled into budgets by corrupt officials have been uncovered.</div>

<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Uganda recently signed a bill that further bans homosexuality. According to CNN, a man was burned to death for being gay shortly after.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="background-color: white; clear: both; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">The bill's original 2009 version, named "Kill The Gays," went as far as calling for the death penalty for certain homosexual acts; that provision was shelved following international furore.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="background-color: white; clear: both; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Under its latest iteration, anyone who conducts marriage ceremonies for same-sex couples faces seven years behind bars. Failure to report homosexual activity to police is also criminalized. Doctors who treat gays, landlords who rent them property and those suspected of being gay are subject to five-year prison terms under the bill.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="background-color: white; clear: both; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Anyone who offers support to homosexuals will also be committing a criminal offence, which can reportedly extend to counselling.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Though homosexuality has already been illegal in the South-east African nation, some argued this bill needed to be passed to safeguard against Western values.</span></div>

Five people comprising a baby, her mother, two brothers and a driver died on Wednesday in the Lagos State accident, while four youths died in the Cross River accident.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
In Lagos, our correspondent learnt that apart from the five people that perished on Christmas day, another lady suffered a fracture after a container which was on an articulated truck fell on a commercial bus on Alaba Suru Road in the Ajeromi-Ifelodun area of Lagos.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
Eyewitnesses said the baby, her mother, the two brothers and the bus driver, who were victims of the accident, were returning from the Lagos Island.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
It was said the two brothers went to purchase bangers for the New Year celebration</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
The crash was said to have been caused by a mentally unstable woman, who laid in the middle of the road, thereby creating confusion for the truck driver who was on top speed.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
Eyewitnesses told PUNCH Metro that the yellow LT bus, with number plate, MUS-975-XC, had also stopped by the side of the road to drop off a passenger, which precipitated the accident.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
A resident, Mohammed Wasiu, said, “The incident happened around 8.30am. I saw the mad woman walking around this morning. She just decided to sleep on the road at that time.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
“The LT bus was going towards Mile 2. There were about eight people in the bus. The driver decided to stop because someone wanted to get down from the bus.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
“As this was going on, the truck was coming on full speed. There were two trucks; one was already ahead, so the second truck driver wanted to catch up.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
“When he got to that point and saw the mad woman on the road, he wanted to avoid crushing her. As he maneuvered the truck, its side hit the bus, and the container fell on the bus.”</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
Wasiu said residents immediately rushed to the scene and began to cut the vehicle with saws in order to save the occupants who were in pain.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
Another eyewitness, who did not identify himself, said, “The two brothers who were at the back of the bus were trapped. They had packs of bangers that they just bought. The woman, who wore a shawl, and was carrying a baby, could not also escape. They all died, including the driver.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
“It was only a lady that was at the entrance to the door that escaped with a fracture.”</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
After the accident, angry residents were said to have seized the mentally unstable lady and beaten her up. Some of the residents said it was the second time she would trigger such accident. She was, however, rescued by policemen.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
At the rescue operation scene were officials of the National Emergency Management Agency, Federal Road Safety Corps, Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, policemen, and the Lagos State Emergency Medical Services.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
The NEMA spokesperson, South-West Zone, Ibrahim Farinloye said, “The incident happened at 8.30am, but we were not alerted till around 11.46am. NEMA was able to mobilise other rescue officials to the scene. At the end of the rescue operation, a woman and her baby with two men died, while a lady was rescued alive. She however had a fractured leg. The corpses have been taken to a mortuary in Oshodi.”</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
The police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State, Ngozi Braide, said she would call back to give details on the accident.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
In Cross River, four youths were on Tuesday killed, while several others were injured after a Mercedes Benz 911 truck rammed into them by the road side at the Akamkpa area of the Calabar-Ikom highway.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
The incident, which occurred around the state’s college of education in Awi, Akamkpa Local Government Area, left the community in mourning.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
PUNCH Metro gathered on Wednesday that the truck with number plate, Lagos FKJ 505 XC, was immediately burnt by angry mob, while the driver, Chidi Duruba, and the truck conductor, Edwin Oragunye, were thoroughly beaten up.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
Two of the injured persons are Blessing Etim and Okechukwu Mbaka. The whereabouts of the six other injured persons could not be immediately ascertained.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
An eyewitness, Ekam Emmanuel, said, “About 6am on Tuesday, some youths from Mbarakom community decided to go for a road walk along the Calabar-Ikom highway.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
“A Mercedes Benz 911 truck with the number plate, FKJ 505 XC rammed into them from behind and the incident claimed four lives on the spot while several others were injured.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
“This incident happened at 6am when I came to clean my shop. I met the youths jogging on the highway but suddenly a truck coming from Calabar on high speed climbed on the four that died on the spot.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
“As a result of the tragedy, the Mbarakom youths got angry, the truck driver and his conducter were almost killed when they stopped to see what had happened. They were seriously beaten up, while the truck was set ablaze.”<br /><br />Emmanuel said another truck, marked Cross River, KAM 45 XA, was also forcefully stopped by the angry mob and set ablaze. He added that the driver escaped being lynched.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
She said the anger continued as the youths further burnt another oncoming Audi 80 commercial car, adding that the intervention of the combined team of military and police patrol teams brought the situation under control.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
A police officer in the Akamkpa division, Eric Bassey, who is of the traffic department, confirmed the report. He said, “The DPO got an early morning distress call that there was a riot going on in Awi. He immediately gave us orders and on getting to the scene we discovered that three vehicles were burnt and some casualties were there.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
“The casualties included some dead bodies, while several others, who sustained injuries, were taken to the hospital for medical attention.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
“We were informed that the driver and the conductor of the truck that caused the accident were being held hostage at Mbarakom. We acted swiftly, but discovered that they had been beaten up badly. We rescued them and took them to the General Hospital at Akamkpa where they are still receiving treatment.”</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
He said peace had been restored in the troubled community.</div>
<div style="margin-top: 12px;">
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Hogan Bassey, confirmed the incident, adding that the police had been able to bring the situation under control.</div>

<img alt="photo - Jonathan's CHRISTMAS MESSAGE To Nigerians" src="http://img.naij.com/business/politics/03/0/goodluck_jonathan_waving.jpg" /></div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-size: 15px; line-height: 22px; margin-top: 12px;">
<strong>On Tuesday, Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan congratulated Nigerians, especially Christians, who celebrate Christmas.</strong></div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-size: 15px; line-height: 22px; margin-top: 12px;">
Acting on President's behalf, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati said the President joined Christians and all other Nigerians in giving thanks to God whose grace and benevolence has helped the nation to overcome the many challenges it has faced since last year.</div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-size: 15px; line-height: 22px; margin-top: 12px;">
The annual commemoration of Jesus Christ's birth is the most auspicious time for Nigerians, as Jonathan said. Every individual, and the whole nation rededicate their lives to the virtues and ideals which the Messiah preached and exemplified during his earthly ministry.</div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-size: 15px; line-height: 22px; margin-left: 40px; margin-top: 12px;">
"Let us all therefore resolve this Christmas to make the ideals of peace, harmony, tolerance, love and goodwill to all even more manifest in our interactions with others.</div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-size: 15px; line-height: 22px; margin-left: 40px; margin-top: 12px;">
"It remains my sincere belief that no height of human accomplishment is beyond us as a nation, if we can overcome our differences, such as they are, and forge a binding national consensus to put the progress and well-being of the country above all other considerations," the statement by the President said.</div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-size: 15px; line-height: 22px; margin-top: 12px;">
He promised to do everything within his powers to ensure that participants at the planned national conference make significant contributions towards national peace, unity and progress.</div>
<div style="color: #222222; font-size: 15px; line-height: 22px; margin-top: 12px;">
The President expressed belief that the conference would contribute to the resolution of contentious issues currently hindering the nation's progress.</div>

That was what I was looking for and I found it in the Koran".</blockquote>
