Suspected gunmen have reportedly killed a pastor of the Christ Apostolic Church, Oregbeni in Benin City, Philip Afemikhe on Saturday.
Eyewitness accounts on Sunday said the gunmen stormed the residence in hoods and first attacked a neighbour and her daughter and collected their mobile phones before breaking into the pastor’s room through his window.
They were said to have destroyed the pastor’s window and removed the burglary before gaining entry into his room where they allegedly shot him.
Their manner of operation suggested that the gunmen could be the killers as they didn't not take anything from the room after the shooting which left the deceased in a pool of his blood.
When contacted, the state police public relations officer, Moses Eguavoen (DSP) said the police were yet to be briefed on the matter.
