Kidnap suspect refused bail!!

A High court in Port Harcourt has refused to grant bail to one of the accused persons involved in the kidnap of, Asime Sekibo the wife of a serving senator in rivers state.
The accused person, are Obed Okoro and Vincent Kingsley.
Counsel to the second accused person, U.S. Olisah had argued for his clients bail on the grounds that he has a fractured arm that needs immediate medical attention.
Meanwhile, Justice Elsie Thompson in her ruling said the reason to grant bail to the accused is unjustifiable.
She reminded the defendants that one of the accused persons who was earlier granted bail absconded immidiately after his release.
Justice Thompson however declined and dismissed the application request and adjourned further hearing on the matter till December 10, 2013.
Dailypost reports that the Senators wife, Mrs Asime Sekibo and two others were kidnapped in March 2012 along the Obiri-Ikwere roundabout in Obio-Akpor Local government area on their way back from the University of Port Harcourt and were released days after paying the sum of N10m as ransom to the abductors.
It will interest you to know that 7 persons were arrested in line with the crime: 4 of them were released while three were held on trial.
