An accident that recently occurred along Ahiara-Ihitte road currently under construction claimed the life a young boy and his mother on the spot.
Eye witnesses who testified the accident said it was caused by the reckless movement and high velocity of a "jetta" vehicle that tried to overtake a mercedes benz. According to them the jetta and mercedes approached from the direction of Ahiara Junction whereas the commercial cyclist with a mother and her son approached from the opposite direction, the accident they said could not be avoided because of the high speed of the jetta car, and so the little boy and his mother lost his life on the spot, some the bones of the 'okada' rider were broken and he is currently receiving treatment.
