LooL! Man caught red-handed in church toilet's ceiling peeping at female congregants!!

A Harare man was caught red-handed in the church toilet's ceiling peeping at female congregants at a prayer meeting.

Paul Chareka, who is employed in the Harare City Council Amenities Department, committed the offence at a Seventh Day Adventist Church meeting in Cranborne where he is also a member.

He clambered into the toilet ceiling where he strategically positioned himself to get full view of female congregants who would come. He spent more than two hours hidden in the ceiling.

When he was apprehended by congregants, the half-dressed Chareka tried to flee.

He pleaded not guilty to the offence when he appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Elijah Makomo. Mr Makomo sentenced Chareka to a 12-month imprisonment term but suspended three months on condition of good behaviour in the next five years.

Another nine months were suspended on condition, Chareka performs 350 hours of community service at Braeside Police Station.

Earlier on, in his defence Chareka said he was in the ladies toilet because he had a running stomach.

Prosecutor Ms Leonella Chitando proved that on April 6 this year and at around 10am, Chareka went to the church for prayers.

While there, he made his way into the female toilet and hid in the ceiling.

He positioned himself in such a way that he would have a full view at every woman who visited the toilet. He was partially dressed. The offence came to light when a church member got into the toilet to relieve herself and saw Chareka perched in the ceiling.

She rushed outside and called a general worker and other church elders who cornered him before handing him over to the police.
