List Of Winners At The 2012 KORA Awards

The Kora Awards finally took place Sunday night in Abidjan, after string of hitches, which the organizers say was due to a heavy downpour, delays in the delivery of musical equipment and the late arrival of star artiste, Chris Brown.

Brown finally arrived in Abidjan on Sunday morning with his girlfriend Rihanna, early enough for the peace concert and the award night.

“But he never made the award night, where he hadbeen billed to perform. And he initially refused to perform at the Peace Concert because the stadium was half empty,” news sources say.

DJ Arafat - Best African Artiste
Chidinma - Best Female Act West Africa
Cheb Khaled - Best North African Artiste
Sexion d’Assaut – African diaspora in Europe
Patience Dabany - Woman of the Year
Mounira Mitchala - Best Central African Artiste
Davido - Best Male Newcomer

The KORA Awards was founded in 1994 by Ernest Adjovi, a businessman from the Republic of Benin.
The 2012 KORA Awards was supported by RTI, MTN, Coca-Cola Zero, Yeshi Group, CFI, District O’Abidjan, Nostalgie, Air France, Sococe, Medi@Store and Hotel Ivoire.

Chris Brown Arrives Abidjan With Rihanna For KORA Awards

Pop Star Chris Brown has arrived in Abidjan with former girlfriend an pop singer, Rihanna.

KORA Award Postponed Because Of Chris Brown

Africa’s Grammy’ - The Kora Awards event supposedly meant to hold on Saturday, 29th of Dec in Abidjan, Ivory Coast had to be postponed to Sunday because Chris Brown missed his flight.

Brown “will not arrive until Sunday at 5:00 am (0500 GMT),” the event’s communication director Konnie Toure told AFP on Saturday.

Chris is to headline the show alongside P-Square.
Chidinma Miss Kedike was nominated for the 2012 KORA Awards under the Best Female West Africa category.
