Woman Dies After 100-Kilogram Police Officer Sits On Her

Woman Dies After 100-Kilogram Police Officer Sits On Her

Police reported this week that in Sakai City, Osaka, last November a woman in her 40s died from a case of hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), a condition that occurs when oxygen is cut off from the brain.
A possible cause of the HIE is suspected to have been the 100-kilogram police officer who had sat on the woman’s back like one would on a pony.
According to police, at about 7 a.m. on Nov 9, Sakai Ward police received a 110 (Japan’s emergency number) call from a family complaining of a "disorderly woman."
The officer in question, who reportedly weighed 100 kgs with all of his equipment on, rushed to the scene with a group of fellow officers.
Sure enough, they found an out of control woman screaming and throwing things in front of her home.
The officers attempted to subdue the woman for 20 minutes when finally they got her one the ground face down and held her arms and legs.
The large policeman assisted by sitting on the woman’s back. Soon after, she lost consciousness as a result of HIE. She was then taken to hospital where she died five days later.
Following the regular procedure, charges of "professional negligence resulting in the death of a suspect" were filed with prosecutors.
An investigation is underway to determine whether the police used excessive force in this incident.
In defense of the accused police officer, there were no reports regarding his height or body fat percentage.
Also there's no information if the woman was taking any medication or narcotics that could induce an HIE attack.

Mother, Baby Detained 3 Months In Hospital For Failure To Settle N150,000 Bill

When a private clinic and maternity home, Jola-Oluwa Medical Clinic, was started over 20years ago by Dr. Kayode Koyejo, it was a succour to residents of Ikotun and its environs.
photo
The street where the clinic was located was named after it’s founder, Rev. Dr. Kayode Koyejo because he was rendering selfless services to patients.
He was reputed for taking all cases brought before him as a challenge to ensure satisfactory medical attention, and that attracted  several patients, both rich and poor to the clinic.
Little wonder he became a household name within a short time, and the reputation of the clinic was so high that he garnered several awards including 2006 best private health facilities on Immunization  and Utilization Services award.
However, this benevolence was short lived as Kayode Koyejo, 64, died in a ghastly motor accident on the 9th of March 2012, as he was rushing to the clinic to attend to an emergency situation.
There were outbursts of emotion and anguish as residents of the area and other beneficiaries trooped to the clinic to mourn their hero.
Expectant mothers were worst hit by the cruel turn of events. Soon after his burial, his wife, a Matron at Ikotun Medical Centre, Titi, took over the responsibility of managing the clinic.
Unfortunately, barely a year after his demise,  the centre could no longer hold.  The high reputation of the clinic started to dwindle.
It started experiencing low patronage. Allegations began to trail the once highly recommended clinic, chief among them being the case of a 49-year- old man identified as Pere Douglass, who recently ran to the police for help over the  treatment meted on his wife at the private clinic where she was delivered of a baby boy through caesarian operation.
My case
The Alabiri-Bayelsa State born businessman narrated his plight to Crime Guard.  According to him,  “Trouble started in February after my wife Ebiere Douglass, was delivered of our child on the 5th of February, through Cesarian operation.  She had to remain at the clinic with the baby because I could not pay N150,000 medical bill.
My wife met Mrs Titilayo koyejo, sometime in December 2012, when she went to Ikotun Medical Centre to register for ante-natal.   Mrs. Titilayo happens to be one of the matrons there. They became friends along the line, and Titilayo further referred my wife to register for ante-natal at her private clinic.
This, she did, in December. When she did not put to bed on the due date, she was asked to go for a second scan, which we did at Tejuosho laboratories here in Ikotun.   It was at the laboratory that the doctor broke the news of the abnormal positioning of the baby in her womb, he also noticed that the water was dry; a situation that will cause difficulty in delivering the baby, and  he said the only solution would be a Caesarian operation.
Unfortunately,  I suffered colossal losses in my oil and gas business as I was duped of a huge amount of money, part of which I would have used to sort out this bill.   I was left with no option but to watch my wife and baby stay back at the clinic because of my inability to pay the bill.   Last Friday, she and our baby were thrown out of the room they occupied and they had to sleep at the reception for three days.”
Our ugly experience
His 36-year-old wife, Ebierre, from Bende in Abia State who spoke with Crime Guard at the Clinic while lying on the floor at the reception hall of the clinic stated that she has seen hell on earth after giving birth to a bouncing baby boy since February 5, 2013.
“I came to register after I was referred here by the matron and owner of this place, Mrs Titilayo Koyejo whom I met and developed a cordial relationship with at  Ikotun Medical Centre, where I had gone to register for ante-natal in December 2012;.   I also carried out a scan at a laboratory here in Ikotun.
I brought the result to the clinic and was told every thing was fine, that I will be due in January.   But the due date came and nothing happened. I came to the clinic and was administered an injection to induce labour; but it did not come. It later resulted into a caesarean operation.
After the operation which went successfully, my husband went to the matron and asked her for the total cost incurred, she told him it is N150,000; but that she had to pay the bills  to settle the doctor that performed the operation and that we have to balance her the money. We saw this as a very kind gesture from her and my husband explained his ordeal in the hands of fraudsters.
He assured he would not mind a written undertaking to be allowed a short period to raise the money and offset the bill. She agreed but insisted that I have to stay back at the hospital. I was also being administered  medications due to complications that followed for two weeks after the operation, and a doctor she employed came to my room and asked the nurses why I was  still at the clinic, they told him my story and he ordered them to stop administering any medications to me until we have settled all outstanding bills…. From that time, I would cry of stomach pain and would not get any medicine.
“Since that development, the matron has been threatening me and my baby, that we will start sleeping on the floor.  Last Friday (April 19th) , when she returned from work, she came into the room and told me that from now, we will have to start sleeping on the floor; that I will no longer use the water nor electricity. My husband came and we pleaded with her to give us more time that things have not been easy for us, especially as my husband has been running around, to get the money.
But she turned down our plea. I later went to meet her in her apartment, which is next door to the clinic, she refused to listen instead, she asked me to return to the clinic that she will meet me there. When she came, I further pleaded with her to consider the baby, that we know she has really tried her best, and that we did not plan things to turn out this way.
I told her we deeply appreciated all she has done, and that she should exercise a little patience with us. She said she can not bear it any more and then instructed one of the nurses to pack up my things and clear the room. The nurses hurriedly cleared up all our belongings there by scattering them all over the room. After that, an electrician was called in to disconnect the electricity and fan.
“Since that Friday up till now, (April 22nd), this is where we have been sleeping. We have not had our bath. Mosquitoes feast on my little baby at night while other flies will take over in the day time.  We have not been allowed to take our birth for days now.
Efforts by sympathetic patients to render help were stopped by the nurses who were directed not to give us any breathing space.  Not being able to bear this anymore, my husband went to Ikotun police station and reported the matter pleading that they should assist us to make the Matron agree to an undertaking.
The DPO accompanied him here to see things for himself. He asked the matron to make us sign an undertaking that we will pay the money at an agreed time, and allow us to go home. she refused, telling the DPO that she does not want to be going to the station to ask for her money; that the police was not there when the clinic carried out the operation on me.
The DPO then ordered her to allow us back into the room since she refused to us signing an undertaking. That it is a crime to throw out a new born baby and a nursing mother.
“I feel helpless, if I could, I would have rallied and payed up the money a long time ago. This is a situation no woman will want to see herself in, and my baby, what has he done to deserve this,” she asked, wiping tears off her eyes.
Related case
A sympathetic neighbour who spoke with  Crime Guard under the guise of anonymity narrated another pathetic case involving a pregnant woman in the same hospital.
According to the neighbour, a pregnant woman identified as Grace  was rushed to the clinic in the 1st week of March 2013; but because there was no down payment for delivery, she was not given proper medical attention and as a result, the set of twins died. The visibly angry neighbour volunteered the telephone number of the victim.
When Crime Guard tried to reach the victim on phone, a man that identified himself as her husband confirmed the incident but said he would rather allow the case to rest, because he felt everything happened the way God wanted it. “Yes, we lost our twin babies at the clinic last month, but I don’t want to attribute it to poor medical attention.
I feel the clinic did their best, believe me they tried their best, considering the fact that we did not drop any money. We have decided to take the death of our twin babies as an act of God.”
Why we took the measures
When Crime Guard visited the clinic, the matron, Titilayo Koyejo, was not around but her 25 year-old son, identified as Abolaji koyejo, spoke on why the clinic took such measure.   He said,  “The clinic decided to take some stringent measures  to get Mr Douglass to speed up and get the money paid.
This clinic was started around 1992 by my father, who managed this place alongside my mum. But after his death on the 9th of March 2012, my mother (Mrs koyejo) has been saddled with the  task of managing this clinic and believe me, it has not been easy.
The clinic has not been fetching much funds like it used to when my dad was alive. We have been trying to run it, introducing different strategies just to make sure things are working fine. The clinic suffered a drastic decrease in patronage after my dad passed on due to the fact that the man they used to know to be in charge of the place is no more. Though, we now have some of them coming back.
It’s been well over two months that we have Mrs. Douglas here. She came in as a pregnant woman and put to birth through caesarian operation  that involved one of the doctors in the house.
Normally, she was meant to pay up her bills and leave after every other check-up must have been done to ensure that she is alright. But unfortunately, we had to settle the bills from our purse, because the doctor that operated on her was not directly associated with us, he has his own clinic.
After the operations, she had some other complications which was treated by the clinic without her paying a dime.
During the Easter period, the husband came to us and pleaded that we give them more time, that he was going to settle the bill; a month later, he did not show up to fulfill his promise. The clinic has been very lenient with them, what we did is not against the ethics of hospital management anywhere. She can go to any other clinic to confirm this. This has not been fair to us.
We pay bills here too; we have over N9,000 PHCN bill every month, the staff salary is there and many other responsibilities. Considering the low patronage, running this place has not been easy on us, what we are after is for them to pay their bills and go.”
Crime Guard  gathered that the situation took a dramatic turn last Monday after the police at Ikotun visited the hospital and saw the deteriorating condition of the woman and her child.  They reportedly made concerted efforts to plead with the matron to allow them sign an undertaking to no avail.
This prompted the urgent intervention of the Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko who directed that the mother and her ailing child should be urgently evacuated from the hospital while the police at Ikotun division should ensure that proper arrangements were made to recover the money for the hospital.
This directive was swiftly carried out and police sources said, if not for the wisdom applied by the DPO, some staff of the hospital nearly resisted police intervention violently.
As at press time, it was not possible to ascertain whether the police is pressing any charges on the hospital for detaining the mother and her child for so long in the hospital or not.

Worshiper Gives Used Condom As Offering In Church!!!

“Offering time, blessing time!” So goes the chorus from members of the congregation whenever it’s time to give offering in most churches.
To most Christians, the offering time is, indeed, a time of immense financial blessing. But recently, the offering time turned into a moment of hot curses in a Lagos church when an already used condom, dripping with semen, was discovered inside the offering box after the Sunday service.
It was like a weird dream, according to the former Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Ogba Zone, Prophet Tobi Okonkwo, who witnessed the incident. The cleric said he couldn’t believe his eyes when a discarded condom, with stains, was discovered in an envelope in the offertory box of his former church.
When Pope Paul VI warned on June 29, 1972 that the smoke of Satan had entered the church, not many Christians took the warning seriously.
With this recent incident, Okonkwo admitted that the agents of darkness had infiltrated the churches in large numbers and now occupy high-ranking positions in the gathering of God’s children, where they wreak untold havoc on the unwary flock.
Okonkwo, who is also the General Overseer of Living Word Prayer Assembly, Agege, Lagos, wept over man’s ingratitude to God during a recent monthly thanksgiving programme of the church, tagged Manna from Heaven.
Although the service was a joyful moment where the shepherd distributes food items and other gifts to his flock, his startling revelation brought a hush of silence on the congregation.
His words pierced the hearts of the worshippers, as he explained how man had become ungrateful to divine benevolence. His several instances of the atrocities committed in hallowed places pointed to the fact that messengers from hell now walked about freely in hallowed places. “It is really bad.
It has got to a point where some people come to the church to mock God. They are anti-Christ but they still go to church. You could imagine how somebody came to the church and decided to give a used condom in an envelope to God.
You can see how wicked man has become,” he said. Okonkwo said the giver of the abominable gift refused to confess his crime, even when the entire church rained curses profusely on whosoever was responsible.
He said, “A curse was laid on the person. Even before the people laid the curse, God had already seen the abomination committed in his house by someone, who pretended he came to the church to worship God.”
The former PFN leader warned other members of the church of the reality of the anti-Christ, whose reign would usher ungodliness in the world. He lamented that prosperity message has taken over the pulpit at the neglect of the gospel of repentance, which had enslaved many hearts in pleasure and love of the world.
According to him, most Christians hunger for sermons that promise easy wealth, while rejecting teachings that encourage chastity, discipline, endurance and faithfulness.
“The style of the anti-Christ is to mock Jesus. Many Christians today are crucifying Christ a second time. It’s really sad and unfortunate,” he said. The cleric decried the approval of same s*x marriage by different countries, describing the constitutional recognition accorded to such couples as an indication of the reign of anti-Christ in the world.
Rather than milk his members dry, Okonkwo said he introduced a programme, Manna from Heaven, to feed the flock of Christ with the little he could afford. He said the programme involved sharing of bags of rice, noodles and other foodstuff on equal measures to all the members to inculcate in them the love for sharing and concern for their suffering neighbour.
Okonkwo also berated some pastors who, according to him, start Christian ministries and involve themselves in dubious things all in a bid to acquire wealth and fame. He said such ones worship money as their god. “For them to get money, they end up preaching prosperity.
Salvation messages are not often on their lips. The church is not supposed to be a business but most people have turned it into a business.
It is quite unfortunate,” he said. Aside the sacrileges committed in churches, Okonkwo, who had earlier predicted the emergence of Jonathan as President during the ailing days of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, also frowned at the various scandals rocking political offices and other sectors of the economy.
He said most Nigerians have lost the sense of sanity, citing the many cases of corruption in the country. According to him, no day passes without the disclosure of one fresh set of financial scandal or the other.
He lamented that the financial blood of the country was being drained by some thieving elite with no interest of the masses at heart. Although Okonkwo foreclosed the chances of possible disintegration of the country, he warned corrupt leaders to repent or face the wrath of heaven.
According to him, only selfless leaders would bring the nation back from the brink of monumental crisis and repair the ruins caused by corruption and bad leadership in the country.

Tragedy: 14-year-old student buried by the riverside where he drowned in Lagos

The burial of a 14-year-old student took place yesterday by the riverside where he drowned in Lagos.
Feyipitan Owonifaari, a JSS II pupil of Ikosi High School, Ketu, Lagos, died in the WayBridge River, Owode-Onirin, Lagos on Tuesday morning, while swimming with his brother, Farouk and a neighbour, Muis Ajisafe, 12,.
A family member told reporters that his 15th birthday was in two weeks’ time.
According to reports, officials of Merchant Navy attached to Lagos State Emergency Agency recovered his body from the river by on Wednesday morning.
The family spoke on their reaction when the deceased passed away.
“We were swimming at a distance away from him. Suddenly we heard him shouting for help. When we looked back, it was only his hands that we saw above the water as it carried him away,” Ajisafe said.
Farouk explained that he and Ajisafe could swim well but Owonifaari was a beginner: “I swam immediately to him and tried to pull him out, but he was too heavy. I had to let him go.”
Owonifaari’s father, Ade, who is a teacher, said: “I was on Lagos Island yesterday (Tuesday) at around midday when his mother called me and told me that Feyipitan went to swim and could not be found.
“I hurried back home and went to the riverside, but I could not find him. This morning, some government agencies recovered his body. He was a gentle boy, it baffled me that he would have gone to the river to swim.”
His mother, Omolara, who works for the state Neighbourhood Watch, said:
“I was washing clothes at around 11am when his brother, Farouk, came running and told me that Feyipitan had been carried away by the river. I had warned Feyipitan and his brother earlier to stop swimming in the river, but they did not listen. I had three children; Feyipitan was my second child. ”

President Jonathan Quiet More Than 48 Hours After 185 Civilians Massacred In Borno

More than 48 hours after Nigerian soldiers hunting for Boko Haram insurgents allegedly leveled Baga town in Borno State, killing 185 civilians and wounding several others, President Goodluck Jonathan is yet to comment on the tragedy.
The president’s silence is a sharp contrast with the way his United States counterpart, Barack Obama, acts whenever even a single American is killed.
Immediately news of the Boston bombing, which killed three and injured more than 170 reached him last Monday, President Obama spoke up, condole with the victims and their families, described the incident as an act of terrorism and stressed the determination of the American authorities to bring perpetrators to book.
But there has been no word from the Nigerian government since news of the massacre broke in the local and international press.
Presidential spokespersons, Reuben Abati and Doyin Okupe did not answer or return calls seeking comments on why the president is still quiet about the killings. They also did not respond to text messages sent to them.
The president’s silence has however sparked outrage among some Nigerians.
“A competent and sensible president should have visited Borno immediately to see things for himself,” says Segun Onabanjo, a sociology lecturer at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye. “That he is still holed up there in Aso Rock, keeping mum when his troops are alleged to have extrajudicially killed 185 is an indication of how much this president values the lives of the people he governs.”
Olu Akerele, a chieftain of the opposition Progressive Peoples Alliance, PPA, said it is sad that Nigerians have no one to look up to for leadership in the face of this kind of tragedy.
“Our expectation is that the president would immediately review the intelligence he received from Borno and then take action to lessen the pains of the people of the town. This president has carried his ineptitude too far,” Mr. Akerele said. “It is an indication that even if all of us are killed, this president just might not care.”
At least 185 persons including women and children were reportedly killed by either gunshots or fire after soldiers of the Joint Task Force tried to hunt down Boko Haram insurgents in the commercial border town of Baga in Borno State, completely burning down the community in the process.
Local government officials who spoke to PREMIUM TIMES said 185 persons died, at least 2000 houses, 64 motorcycles and 40 cars were burnt in the wake of the attack.
The Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, visited the town on Sunday and was told by residents that soldiers were responsible for the torching of houses that led to the death of many.
PREMIUM TIMES gathered that scores of others are currently hospitalised with various shades of burnt injuries.
Residents said most casualties especially the aged ones and children died as a result of the conflagration that engulfed the entire town.
Governor Kashim Shettima who visited the town on Sunday became emotionally drenched at the sight of charred houses, vehicles and how homeless residents took refuge in the bushes.
The Commander of the Task Force, Brigadier General Austin Edokpaye, explained that the fire that consumed the town and resultant deaths should be blamed on the Boko Haram terrorists who opened fire on soldiers while hiding in the mix of civilians.
A local trader in Baga told PREMIUM TIMES that the attack started at about 8 p.m on Friday and was continued the next day.
“Only God can understand what we have done to deserve this. But the soldiers were mindless that night in their approach; they killed and burnt our houses, chased everyone into the bush including women and children. So far we have buried 185 corpses. – some were burnt beyond recognition; others are hospitalised with various degrees of burnt,” said the resident who begged to remain anonymous.
Governor Shettima who drove through the burnt town amidst heavy motorcade of security personnel condemned the incident which he said was a ‘nasty occurrence’.
At the town’s hospital, the governor had to commiserate with women, children and aged men receiving treatment for various degrees of burnt caused by the fire.
Bashir Isa, a grocery merchant, told PREMIUM TIMES that “everyone has been in the bush since Friday night; we started returning back to town because the governor came to town today.
“To get food to eat in the town now is a problem because even the markets are burnt. We are still picking corpses of women and children in the bush and creeks.”
Brigadier General Edokpaye denied residents allegations that the shootout was unprovoked.
“We lost an officer during the attack on our men on patrol. We’ve received an intelligence that some suspected Boko Haram members usually pray and hide arms at a particular mosque in town. It was around that mosque that our men were attacked with several of them injured and an officer died.
“When we reinforced and returned to the scene the terrorists came out with heavy firepower including RPGs which usually has a conflagration effect,” the army chief said.
Governor Shettima pleaded with fleeing residents to return back to their burnt homes as a committee has been empannelled to provide a palliative compensation for the loss they suffered. He also called on the commander to “take full charge” of his operation and ensure he personally supervises his field officers from time to time “in order to avert such nasty incidences in the future.

Man poops in bedroom grave, court told

A feuding couple stunned the court Thursday when the wife revealed the existence of a grave inside their bedroom on which the husband regularly defecated on a daily basis.

Pepukai Kuzovamunhu of 1248 Hopley Farm in Waterfalls made the revelations at Harare Civil Court where she was seeking a protection order against her husband Gideon Sumbrero.

"This man is my husband and I want him out of our matrimonial home.

"There is no toilet at our home and he has a strange habit of digging holes so that he defecates in them.

"At one time I had to move to my sister's place because of the smell in the house since he defecated on three consecutive days," Kuzovamunhu said.

"There is also a grave in our bedroom and he once placed a cloth and my clothes on top before he covered them with soil. When I asked him about the grave he said it had something to do with his rituals.

"There is no concrete floor in the house and he took advantage of that.

"I continued asking him about that and he assaulted me and said I would not last long. At the same time he rushed outside and came back wielding a knife.

"I managed to escape through the window and went to our neighbour's place and left our baby behind.

"The neighbours had to come to take the child because he was fuming with anger," she said.

Kuzovamunhu told the court that Sumbrero threatens her with death whenever she asks about their children's food.

In his defence, Sumbrero said he had altercations with Kuzovamunhu because of infidelity and lack of hygiene in the house.

"Every time when I get back from work, I would ask her why she would not wash my clothes," he said.

"We went for close to five months and she would continuously soak our baby's nappies instead of washing them.

"She concentrates on gossiping with neighbours and I tried to ban her from that. I only defecated in our bedroom once and on the day I was drunk," he said.

Magistrate Vongai Muchuchuti said she would not evict Sumbrero since it was their matrimonial home. But she barred Sumbrero from defacating in the bedroom.

She advised Kuzovamunhu to approach the correct court is she intends to divorce Sumbrero.

One Body, Two Souls: A Day In a Life of Conjoined Twins (PHOTOS)

Abby and Brittany Hensel are conjoined twins determined to live the normal, active life of outgoing 20-somethings anywhere. They have been to university, they travel, they have jobs. But how easy is it for two people to inhabit one body?
Like most 23-year-olds, Abby and Brittany Hensel love spending time with their friends, going on holiday, driving, playing sport such as volleyball and living life to the full.

The identical, conjoined twins from Minnesota, in the United States, have graduated from Bethel University and are setting out on their career as primary school teachers with an emphasis on maths.
Although they have two teaching licences, there is one practical difference when it comes to the finances.
“Obviously right away we understand that we are going to get one salary because we’re doing the job of one person,” says Abby.
“As maybe experience comes in we’d like to negotiate a little bit, considering we have two degrees and because we are able to give two different perspectives or teach in two different ways.”
“One can be teaching and one can be monitoring and answering questions,” says Brittany. “So in that sense we can do more than one person.”
Their friend Cari Jo Hohncke has always admired the sisters’ teamwork.
“They are two different girls, but yet they are able to work together to do the basic functions that I do every day that I take for granted,” says Hohncke.
The twins know each other so well that they often say the same things or finish each other’s sentences, and are supportive and understanding of the other in all aspects of life.
With two sets of lungs, two hearts, two stomachs, one liver, one large intestine and one reproductive system, they have learned from a young age to co-ordinate their body, with Abby controlling the right hand side and Brittany the left.
There is a difference in height and at 1.57m Abby is taller than her sister Brittany who is 1.47m. As their two legs are different lengths, Brittany has to stand on tip toe, on her leg, to ensure they maintain their balance.
They have had to learn to reach compromises on everything from what food they eat to their social life and even the clothes they wear.
“We definitely have different styles,” says Abby. “Brittany’s a lot more like neutrals and pearls and stuff like that, and I would rather have it be more fun and bright and colourful.”
While Abby is seen as the “outspoken” sister and will always win the argument about what they are going to wear, Brittany says her twin is also much more of a “homebody,” whereas she prefers going out.
There are other differences, too. Brittany is scared of heights, whereas Abby is not. Abby is interested in maths and science, while Brittany prefers the arts.
They also respond differently to coffee. After a few cups Brittany’s heart rate increases, but Abby is not affected.
And they have different body temperatures.
“I can be a totally different temperature than Brittany would be,” says Abby, “and a lot of times our hands are different temperatures, so I get super-hot way faster.”
Despite having a normal family and social life, studying and working like any other young women, they do face some additional problems.
For example, they have to put up with speculation about their private life – something they prefer not to discuss. The twins deny a rumour that Brittany has become engaged, describing it as a “dumb joke”.
Travelling to a new country with friends on holiday is also not as straightforward for conjoined twins. They have two passports, but one ticket as they only take up one seat on the aeroplane. However, they also have to be on their guard and more aware of entering crowded or confined spaces because members of the public will often try to take unwelcomed photographs.

As a close friend of the twins, Erin Junkans says you always need to be alert because you never quite know how people are going to react or what they are going to say.
“I want to make sure that they’re safe and that they’re not completely exposed, definitely just standing in the way of pictures, just always keeping an eye on what’s going on and just how the girls are reacting to the crowds,” says Junkans.
“Sometimes if they get more overwhelmed then… we just need to get away from [the] area for a little bit, but they amaze me at their ability to just shake it off and keep seeing what we are there to see.”
Conjoined twins are very rare – it is thought one in every 200,000 births – and around 40-60% of these births are delivered stillborn. Female siblings tend to have a better survival rate than male siblings.
Any operation to separate conjoined twins is a highly complex and dangerous process. It was a risk that Abby and Brittany’s parents did not want to take for fear that one of the twins might not have survived the surgery or have the same quality of life they do now.
With possibly fewer than 12 adult pairs of conjoined twins across the world today, Abby and Brittany Hensel are defying the odds. Their mother, Patty Hensel, says her hopes and aspirations for her daughters’ future are just the same as anyone else’s.
“Like every mum would hope for, you want them to be successful and to be happy and healthy as they’re being successful, and that’s what I want,” says Patty Hensel.
As they embark on their working life together, the twins aim to take things day by day and do not tend to look forward to where they will be or what they will be doing in 10 years’ time.
With their position as teachers they have become role models for children academically, but also in their attitude to life, overcoming any challenges.
“I don’t think there’s anything that they won’t try or something that they couldn’t be able to do if they really wanted to,” says Paul Good, principal of the school where Abby and Brittany work.
“To bring that to children, especially kids who might be struggling, that’s very special, that’s learnt through lived example.”

Kim Kardashian In Similar Voluminous Knit Dress!!!

Kim was criticized for her choice in maternity wear when she stepped out in a pink voluminous Lanvin mini dress that failed to flatter her pregnancy figure last month. Kim redeemed herself when she stepped out in a very similar style in New York on Wednesday. She wore an almost identical black knit frock, which this time had short capped sleeves. It  slimmed down her physique and featured a higher bustline which made her seem less top heavy. The darker shade also appeared to make her large baby bump disappear, despite the material sitting tight across her waistline. Kim teamed her dress with a pair of cut-out ankle booties and a large black crocodile skin clutch.

Which of these looks did she rock better? The pink or black knit dress?

Terrorists In Korea Target Americans, Mistakenly Bomb Themselves

Terrorists in Korea target Americans, but mistakenly fire bomb a Korean own English academy.
Inspectors dispatched to a building in Suseong District, Daegu, where two anti-U.S. arsonists mistakenly attacked a cram school called the American Cultural Center yesterday, gather evidence
At 7:07 a.m. before yesterday, an explosion went off on the third floor of a nine-story building in Suseong District, Daegu, starting a fire. Two arsonists had gotten access to the floor and hurled glass bottles filled with flammable liquids.
A janitor alerted local police, who dispatched officers to the scene. They suspected terrorists because the target of the attack was the American Cultural Center, located on the third floor of the building.
The intention was indeed to strike against America. Unfortunately for the terrorists, they ended up torching a private, Korean-owned English academy.
“We were so relieved to find out later that the academy just used the name American Center,” said a police officer at the Suseong Police Precinct.
The fired burned parts of the school’s front door, walls and floors. Firefighters arrived at the scene quickly and put the fire out. No casualties were reported.
At the site, five flyers decrying the United States were found along with shattered fluorescent lights and the glass from the Molotov cocktails.
The flyers bore the name of the Anti-American Fascism Struggle Committee and read,
“The U.S. has committed inhumane and unpardonable atrocities against the Korean people for over 100 years and is now attempting to wage a nuclear war on this land. No single American will leave this country alive if Washington wages another war here.”
The police reported there is no such committee registered. CCTV cameras caught images of two masked suspects in their late 20s entering the building at 6:39 a.m. yesterday with backpacks.
Armed soldiers from the 50th Division of the Korean Army were dispatched to stand guard in front of the building yesterday.
